Description
"America's Tall Ship" USCGC Eagle (WIX-327) is the current Coast Guard Academy training vessel. She was built as a training ship for the German navy in Hamburg in 1936 by Blohm + Voss as the Horst Wessel. Horst Wessel was taken as war reparations after World War II and has served in it's current role since.

DK,good memories,yrs ago during Tall Ship Day in Philadelphia,l went aboard the Eagle... the personnel were sooooo nice,l ended up enlisting in the USCG for a eight yr period... this photo is now one of my screensavers,many thx...
